There's a long-running conflict between a programme to reintroduce the European Brown Bear (Ursus arctos) to the Pyrenees and livestock farmers. A bear has been fatally shot. Here pro-bear supporters protest in front of the Préfecture in favour of replacing the bear by importing another from Slovenia.
